Emigration from the British Isles in the Nineteenth Century
Speaker: Colin Whitney
In the nineteenth century, millions of people emigrated from the British Isles. The vast majority left for either Canada or the United States. Many of those who arrived in Canada stayed there only temporarily before leaving for the United States. We will discuss the reasons for the mass exodus, which areas they left from and where they went.
