- Docent at the San Diego Library: Time spent volunteering in the San Diego Central library may improve your genealogy knowledge and research skills. Please consider volunteering. Training is provided. Contact the Library Liaison for more information.
- Data entry projects: Work at home, at your convenience, on a specific project that involves data entry (example: special projects).
- Education Committee: Lead a genealogy session.
- Queries: Research/ respond to requests for assistance received by the Society

SDGS Quarterly: Write an article or a regular column for the quarterly newsletter. Help proofread the Quarterly prior to publishing.
Society Administration
We can use your administrative and leadership experience.
- Community Outreach: Coordinate the SDGS Scholarship Program.
- Desktop publishing / graphics design: Create / design flyers, forms, brochures and other materials for the Society
- Budget / Audit: Twice-yearly audits.
- Fundraising - Perhaps you have a knack for fundraising that could help the society improve the program.
- Meeting and Event Planning
- Membership: Help maintain the membership database or staff the membership table at monthly meetings and other genealogical events
- Publicity / Public Relations: Staff a booth for the Society at a local event.
