Church records are a valuable source of information, particularly before civil registration was started in 1837. Dating to 1538 in England and Wales, 1560 in Scotland and 1634 in Ireland, these records are likely to include most of your ancestors. We will discuss Anglican, Roman Catholic and Scottish Presbyterian records for the whole of the British Isles. We will include unusual sources, and show which records are available at the main search websites.
