Topic:  From Berlin to the Birkenau Orchestra: Navigating the Sea of Holocaust Archives and Databases

Presenter: Bruce Colegrove

Our presenter, Bruce Colgrove, researches Holocaust related topics, with a very specific focus on tracking down members of the Women's Orchestra at Auschwitz-Birkenau.  His presentation is titled "From Berlin to the Birkenau Orchestra: Navigating the Sea of Holocaust Archives and Databases."  As he relates the story of this very unique orchestra, he will also share the important resources he used in his research, including the Arolsen Archives, the German Minority Census of 1939, the archives of many specific camps & transit points, and the national archives of Germany, the Czech Republic, France, Yad Vashem, etc.  Please join us for this fascinating meeting.
