About the speaker:
Bio:
Ingeborg Carpenter was born in Frankfurt, Germany, raised in Westphalia, and emigrated to America in 1972. She earned a Master’s degree in German Language and Literature, holds a California teaching credential, and is a non-combat veteran of the US Air Force.
Ingeborg is very active in genealogy. She has served the Sacramento German Genealogy Society in many capacities over the years and is currently the SGGS president. She is an active participant in the creation of the International German genealogy Partnership (IGGP)
Ingeborg is an expert in reading the old German script, and is a translator of German and English. She teaches the reading and writing of the old handwriting, and German history for genealogists. She has researched her ancestry and studied the anthropological and sociological aspects of life in German lands during past centuries.
